If you’re passionate about energy efficiency, you’ll be pleased to know that your favorite homebuilder (Brookfield Residential) just won a prestigious award called the Cross-Border Challenge. And this was our second straight year! The award, as determined by the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET), goes to the builders in the U.S. and Canada who record the best Home Energy Rating System scores during the previous year. We won in the “Production Builder” category with a lowest-recorded-score of 42. Since the scoring is based on an index in which the standard is 100, our score means our home was 58 percent more energy efficient than the standard home – better than any other production home in the U.S. These energy efficient homes are right here in Denver! We also take pride in noting that our Brookfield colleagues in Toronto won the Canadian side of the competition with a score of 34. Congrats to them!
